Television Programing A television program is a part of programming in television broadcasting. The program may be a one-off broadcast (this is also called a special) or part of a periodically returning television series. Conventionally, television programming is classified as following: Serials : A television series that is intended to air a large number of episodes. When the number is rather small say around 5 to 7 then a term ‘miniseries’ is often used. Episode : A single instance of a programme is called an episode, "show" or "program". Television Movie : A television movie is a movie that is initially aired on television. It is not meant to be released directly in theatres or direct-to-video, although many successful television movies are later released on video.
